The Heron's Landing at The River development consists of 217 properties of which about 85% are occupied as single-family homes or townhomes. Located in Pulaski County, Virginia between Radford and Christiansburg, Virginia, and off Viscoe Road (see the map links), Heron's Landing was developed by Crawford Homes; the development is 15 years old, and includes townhouses at The Reserve at Heron's Landing, The Villas at the River, and The Village at Heron's Landing. The development borders the Pete Dye River [golf] Course of Virginia Tech.
The Heron's Landing at The River Homeowners' Association (HLHOA), Inc.was established in 1999 to establish by-laws and publish a declaration of covenants, conditions, and restrictions for the benefit of all owners. The HOA has an annually elected Board of Directors to determine the annual assessment, oversee the maintenance of the common areas, conduct an annual meeting, enforce the covenants, and deligate other duties to several committees. A sister development - The Quarters at Heron's Landing, featuring both townhomes and single-family homes, and organized as The Herons Landing at the River, Phases III & IV, is not affiliated with the the HLHOA.
One of our more active committees - the MECCA (Maintenance, Enforcement and Community Commitment Advisers) was formed in 2005 to serve as advisors to the Board of Directors. The MECCA is a very active group, and maintains our "Pride in the Community" by weekly community walkthroughs to look for conditions that are not in accordance in our covenants - the HOA encourages all owners of homes and/or vacant lots to abide by the "rules" to continue to make our community a beautiful one.
